EducationIntermediate (Class 12) from a board established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government (para 2.6). The certificate or mark sheet must be held at the time of applying; candidates who have appeared or are appearing are not eligible (note i). Preferential qualifications, used only to break ties: DOEACC/NIELIT 'O' level certificate, at least two years in the Territorial Army, or NCC 'B' certificate (para 2.7).

Age relaxationFor Uttar Pradesh domiciles only: SC, ST, OBC and UP State Government employees 5 years — after the 5 January 2026 corrigendum, men born 2 July 1995 to 1 July 2007 and women born 2 July 1992 to 1 July 2007. UP ex-servicemen: army service is deducted from actual age and the resultant age may be at most 3 years over the limit, i.e. not 28 (men) or 31 (women) as on 1 July 2025 after the corrigendum (25/28 in the original para 2.9 table). Only one preferential qualification and the largest single age relaxation apply.
