ExamBharo ("we", "us") is an independent website that publishes alerts about Indian government exams. This page explains what information we collect, why, how long we keep it, who else processes it, and how to have it deleted. It applies to the ExamBharo website. Questions: contact@exambharo.com.
Browsing needs no account
Reading alerts and exam pages and using the calculators, the eligibility checker and the other tools asks for no account and no personal detail. There is no email sign-up form.
Signing in is needed for two things only: the daily quiz and the previous-year papers. You sign in with Google or Telegram. We never set or store a password.
What we store when you sign in
- From the sign-in provider: the provider's identifier for your account (Google's account ID, or your Telegram user ID), your name, and your email address if you use Google. Telegram gives us no email address.
- About your account: your site language, when the account was created and when you last used it, and the exams you choose to follow.
- Previous-year papers you submit: every answer you chose, the time taken as your browser reports it, your score (correct, wrong and unattempted), and your rank and percentile among ExamBharo users who took the same paper. Each submission also carries a random identifier your browser makes, which stops the same browser submitting one paper twice.
- The daily quiz: nothing. Your quiz score, answers and streak stay in your browser (see the next section) and are not sent to us.
Cookies and storage on your device
ExamBharo sets two cookies of its own, both only when you sign in:
eb_sessionkeeps you signed in. It lasts 180 days, or until you sign out, and page scripts cannot read it (HttpOnly).eb_oauthcarries a security check during Google sign-in. It lasts 10 minutes and is deleted when sign-in finishes.
Your browser's local storage keeps these on your device only. Clearing this site's data removes them.
theme: whether you chose the light or dark theme.exambharo.quiz.<date>andexambharo.quiz.streak: your answers and score for each day's quiz, and your streak.exambharo.test.<paper>, with.startedand.token: your answers to a paper while you take it, when you started, and the key that fetches your result.exambharo.taker: the random browser identifier described above, sent with each paper you submit.
Google's cookies for Analytics and advertising are covered in their own sections below.
Server logs
When a request looks like an attack or abuse — a forged or rejected sign-in, too many sign-in attempts, a rejected request to the admin panel — the server records the request's IP address in its system log. We use these records only to keep the site secure. The log is rotated automatically and is not kept for any other purpose.
How we use it
To run your account, show your paper attempts and results on any device you sign in from, calculate scores and ranks, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising or share it with anyone beyond the processors listed below.
Google user data
Google sign-in asks only for your basic profile and email address (the openid, email and profilescopes). We use them only to create and run your ExamBharo account.ExamBharo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, never transferred except as needed to run the account, and never used to train AI models.
Who processes it
- Oracle Cloud hosts the site and its database, on servers in India.
- Google handles Google sign-in, and, when they are enabled, Google Analytics and Google AdSense.
- Telegram handles Telegram sign-in. Its sign-in page is Telegram's own, under Telegram's Privacy Policy.
How long we keep it
Account details are kept until you delete your account. A sign-in session ends after 180 days, or when you sign out.
Deleting your account (from the account page) removes your name, email address, sign-in methods, sessions and followed exams at once. Your paper attempts are kept, but no longer linked to you: the answers, score, rank and random browser identifier stay, without your name or account, so that other candidates' ranks do not change. They are kept for as long as that paper is offered on the site and are deleted with it.
What is stored on your device stays there until you clear it.
How we protect it
- There are no passwords to leak: sign-in is only through Google or Telegram.
- Session cookies and result keys are stored only as SHA-256 hashes, so a copy of the database is not a set of working sign-ins.
- All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and the session cookie cannot be read by page scripts.
- The servers accept administrative access only by SSH key.
Your rights and choices
- See it: the account page shows your profile, sign-in methods, followed exams and paper attempts.
- Correct it: change your name and language on the account page, or write to us.
- Delete it: use "Delete account" on the account page. If you cannot, write to contact@exambharo.com and say how you signed in; we confirm the account is yours, then delete it by hand.
- Withdraw consent: sign out and delete your account. Browsing never needed consent.
- Complain: write to the Grievance Officer below. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
