About this notification
The Staff Selection Commission has issued an addendum to the Notice of the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Examination, 2026 (published 24 April 2026), adding one provision to Para 15, which governs the Skill Test in Stenography for candidates who qualify in the computer-based examination.
The provision, quoted from the addendum: candidates opting for Hindi as the medium for the Typing/Skill Test “shall be required to type in Mangal Font only. The script typed by a candidate using any font other than Mangal Font shall not be evaluated, and such candidate shall be treated as not qualified in the Typing/Skill Test”, and consequently the candidature “shall not be considered for further stages of the recruitment process”.
Every other provision of the notice stays as it was. The practical point for a Hindi-medium candidate is to practise transcription in Mangal (Unicode) rather than in Kruti Dev or another legacy font, since the choice decides whether the script is marked at all. The computer-based examination was held on 9–12 and 15 September 2026; the skill test follows for those who qualify.
