The Staff Selection Commission's Notice of 26 June 2025 (F.No. E/15/2025-C-2) invites online applications for Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff in central ministries and Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, both in Pay Level-1. - 18–25 years for MTS (born not before 2 August 2000 and not later than 1 August 2007); 18–27 years for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN and a few MTS posts in some departments (born not before 2 August 1998 and not later than 1 August 2007). Crucial date 1 August 2025 (para 6.1).

- SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; PwBD 10 years (13 for PwBD-OBC, 15 for PwBD-SC/ST); ex-servicemen 3 years after deducting military service from actual age; defence personnel disabled in operations 3 years (8 for SC/ST); Central Government civilian employees with at least 3 years' regular continuous service on the closing date up to 40 (45 for SC/ST); widows, divorced women and women judicially separated and not remarried up to 35 (40 for SC/ST). Date of birth as in the Matriculation certificate is final (para 6.2–6.3).

- Matriculation examination or equivalent from a recognised board, passed on or before 1 August 2025 (para 9.1). Open and distance learning qualifications count only if recognised for the relevant period by the Distance Education Bureau, UGC (para 9.2). Certificates are checked at document verification by the user department after the final result (para 9.3).

The Staff Selection Commission’s Notice of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025 (F.No. E/15/2025-C-2, uploaded 26 June 2025, 87 pages) invites online applications for MTS, a General Central Service Group C post in Pay Level-1 in ministries, departments, constitutional and statutory bodies across the states, and Havaldar in Pay Level-1 in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and the Central Bureau of Narcotics (p.1). The notice itself prints MTS vacancies as “being collected” and Havaldar as 1,075 (para 2.1; Annexure-XVII, pp.86–87, lists the 1,075 Havaldar posts by zone and commissionerate, the largest being Mumbai Customs 491 and Chennai Customs 124). The corrigendum of 28 July 2025 reads them as 4,375 MTS and 1,089 Havaldar; the tentative-vacancy list of 9 September 2025 shows 6,078 MTS (age 18–25), 732 MTS (age 18–27) and 1,211 Havaldar, and the list of 27 November 2025 revises Havaldar to 1,138, for 7,948 in all. Vacancies are decided by the user departments and are provisional (para 3.2).
Applications were accepted only online on ssc.gov.in or the mySSC app after One-Time Registration (para 10.1–10.2), from 26 June to 24 July 2025 (23:00), with fee payable until 25 July (p.1). The fee is ₹100; women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates are exempt (para 11.1–11.2). The correction window, originally 29–31 July, was moved to 4–6 August 2025 by the notice of 29 July 2025; the first correction costs ₹200 and the second ₹500 (para 12.4). Eligibility: Matriculation or equivalent as on 1 August 2025 (para 9.1); age 18–25 for MTS and 18–27 for Havaldar and a few MTS posts, reckoned on 1 August 2025, with the relaxations in para 6.2.
The computer-based examination, scheduled 20 September to 24 October 2025 (p.1; tentative, para 14.3), has two mandatory 45-minute sessions on the same day: Session-I Numerical and Mathematical Ability (20 questions, 60 marks) and Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving (20/60), with no negative marking; Session-II General Awareness (25/75) and English Language and Comprehension (25/75), with one mark deducted per wrong answer (para 14.5, 14.5.5). The paper is set in Hindi, English and 13 regional languages (para 14.2); multi-shift scores are normalised (para 14.5.6). For Havaldar there is also a Physical Efficiency Test — walking 1,600 m in 15 minutes for men, 1 km in 20 minutes for women — and a Physical Standard Test: men height 157.5 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and Scheduled Tribes) and chest 81 cm with 5 cm expansion; women height 152 cm (relaxable by 2.5 cm) and weight 48 kg (relaxable by 2 kg), conducted by CBIC/CBN at centres anywhere in the country (para 14.7). Tentative answer keys are published after the examination with a ₹100-per-question representation window (para 14.5.7); document verification follows the final result (para 9.3).
