About this notification

Update (12 October 2026): applications closed on 30 September, the fee deadline passed on 1 October and the correction window (8–10 October) has closed. Paper-I is proposed for 20–28 November 2026.

The Staff Selection Commission has published the notice of the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. The posts are Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in the CAPFs, at Pay Level 6 (₹35,400–1,12,400), plus Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF.

The notice lists 205 (male) and 112 (female) vacancies for Sub-Inspector (Exe.) in Delhi Police, 1,320 for Sub-Inspector (GD) across CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB, and 234 for Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF (male only) — 1,871 in all; the notice prints no grand total.

Applications were online only, from 10 September to 30 September 2026 (23:00), and have closed. The fee is ₹100, payable until 1 October; women, SC, ST and eligible ex-servicemen candidates pay nothing. The correction window, against a correction charge, ran 8–10 October.

For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in the CAPFs, candidates need a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF needs a Bachelor’s degree in science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or Matriculation plus a three-year engineering diploma (para 7.2 of the notice). Age is counted as on 1 August 2026: 20–25 years for all posts except Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF, which allows a wider band. The computer-based Paper-I is proposed for 20 to 28 November 2026, per the Commission’s notice of 1 October 2026. Both papers carry negative marking — 0.25 marks per wrong answer in Paper-I and 0.50 in Paper-II.

The notice reads with a Commission line worth repeating: the Government strives for a workforce reflecting gender balance, and women candidates are encouraged to apply. Read the official notice for the full terms.
