Eligibility
- Age limit
- Depends on the post: 18–27, 20–30, 18–30 or 18–32 years.
- Age relaxation
- SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwBD 10 years (13 years with OBC, 15 years with SC/ST). Ex-servicemen get 3 years after deducting military service from actual age as on 1 August 2026. EWS is not listed for relaxation.
- Qualification
- A bachelor's degree from a recognised university, as on 1 August 2026. Individual posts add their own requirements — Assistant Audit Officer, for example, lists Chartered Accountant, Cost & Management Accountant, Company Secretary or a relevant master's degree as desirable.

Applications ran from 21 May to 22 June 2026, with fee payment open one day longer and a correction window from 29 June to 1 July 2026. All of those have now closed.
The notification gave a tentative schedule of August–September 2026 for the Tier-I computer-based examination; SSC’s notice of 12 September 2026 fixed Tier-I for 30 September to 30 October 2026.
