- Qualification
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, passed on or before 31 December 2026 (final-year students may apply provisionally), and proficiency in the opted local language of the State/UT applied for.

The preliminary is 100 marks in one hour (English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability) and only shortlists; the main examination (200 marks) decides the merit list, followed by a local-language test for candidates who did not study the opted language in class 10 or 12.
