Tier-I and the Physical Endurance Test
Row A of the Examination Scheme (p.16): one tier, two hours, 200 one-mark MCQs across the five sections above (40 marks each). After Tier-I the Board conducts the Physical Endurance Test — a 1,600-metre race in six minutes; those who qualify go on to a 13-foot long jump and a 3‹09″ high jump, three chances for each. There is no appeal against the PET. Physical standards (height, chest) and the medical standard are the user department’s to measure; the Board does not conduct them.
