The Supreme Court of India (advertisement No. F.6/2026-SC (RC), dated 30 September 2026) invites online applications for a panel against 250 tentative vacancies of Junior Court Assistant, a Group-B non-gazetted post in Level 6 of the pay matrix with an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 plus allowances. The number of posts may change.
Qualification. A Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university in India, and knowledge of computer operation with a typing speed of 35 words per minute.
Age. 18 to 30 years as on 1 September 2026. Usual relaxation applies for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), physically challenged and ex-servicemen candidates under Government of India rules, and up to five years over 30 for dependants of freedom fighters.
Fee (non-refundable, online only). ₹1,500 for General/Unreserved candidates; ₹750 for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), ex-servicemen and physically challenged candidates; bank charges extra.
Selection. Four stages — an objective test, a typing speed test on computer, a descriptive English test and an interview:
- Objective test: 100 questions, 1½ hours, 100 marks (qualifying 50) — English, general aptitude, general knowledge, the Constitution’s provisions on the judiciary, Supreme Court Rules 2013, the Supreme Court Officers and Servants Rules 1961, and computer knowledge.
- Typing test: 10 minutes, at least 35 w.p.m., 50 marks (qualifying 25), mistakes allowed up to 3%.
- Descriptive English test: 2 hours, 100 marks (qualifying 50).
- Interview: 25 marks (qualifying 13).
