बीपीएससी की एमसीक्यू परीक्षाओं में अब पाँचवाँ विकल्प 'ई' — प्रश्न छोड़ने के लिए इसे चुनें
बिहार लोक सेवा आयोग ने एमसीक्यू आधारित परीक्षाओं की उत्तर प्रणाली संशोधित की है। अब प्रत्येक प्रश्न के पाँच विकल्प (A, B, C, D, E) होंगे, जिनमें विकल्प 'E' का अर्थ 'प्रयास नहीं किया गया (Not Attempted)' है। प्रश्न का उत्तर न देना हो तो विकल्प 'E' चुनना अनिवार्य है; पाँचों में से कोई विकल्प न चुनने पर 1/3 अंक की कटौती होगी। यह संशोधित व्यवस्था आगामी परीक्षाओं में प्रभावी होगी।

The Commission’s notice, dated 1 May 2026 in the handwritten date on the document, revises the answer system for the MCQ-based examinations it conducts. Earlier, each question had four options (A, B, C, D). Now every question has five: A, B, C, D and E, where option E means “Not Attempted”.
A candidate who wants to answer picks one of A to D. A candidate who does not want to answer must pick E. If a candidate marks none of the five options, that unanswered question is penalised with a deduction of 1/3 mark.
The notice says the revised system will apply in upcoming examinations. It does not name any particular examination, including the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination Preliminary, and does not state the negative marking for a wrong answer or an effective date.
